Description
Every wet core bit job is really two decisions: what diameter the penetration actually needs, and whether the barrel will survive what is inside the slab. Get the first wrong and you are patching around a sleeve. Get the second wrong and you lose a segment on the first piece of rebar.
Twelve diameters, 1″ to 14″
The range covers the whole normal spread of work — 1″, 1.5″, 2″, 2.5″, 3″, 4″, 5″, 6″, 8″, 10″, 12″ and 14″. In practice: 1″ to 2″ for conduit and anchors, 3″ to 4″ for plumbing waste and floor drains, 5″ to 6″ for HVAC and larger sleeves, and 8″ upward for structural penetrations and utility work. Order to the sleeve you will install, not to the pipe.
Wet only, and built for reinforcement
These barrels are wet drilling only. Water flushes the cuttings up the barrel and out of the kerf, cools the crown, and stops the slurry from binding the tube in the hole. Run one dry and it will seize, then burn.
The segmented crown is formulated for cured concrete and for rebar-reinforced concrete. When you hit steel, ease the feed pressure and let the crown work through it rather than forcing the rig — forcing is what strips segments off.
