How delivery is priced and arranged

Everything on this site is priced excluding freight. Freight is quoted to you in writing, on the same quote as the goods, before any payment is requested. Nothing is added afterwards, and there is no delivery charge calculated at a checkout — orders here are placed against a written quote and a purchase order.

That matters more on this catalogue than on most. A 14-inch blade goes in a box. A walk-behind saw goes on a pallet, on a truck, with a tail lift if your site has no dock. Those are two different delivery businesses and pretending they are one is how buyers get surprised.

Parcel or freight — which applies to your order

Parcel. Diamond blades, core bits, cup wheels, tuck-point blades, polishing pads, core bit accessories and small parts ship as parcel. Most orders in this group are one or two cartons.

LTL freight. Walk-behind and flat saws, core drills and stands, tile saws and larger equipment ship palletized as less-than-truckload freight. These need a delivery address that can receive a truck, and a plan for getting the machine off it.

Mixed orders are normally split, so the consumables are not held back waiting for a machine to be booked. If you would rather have one consolidated delivery, say so on the quote request.

Dispatch and lead times

  • In-stock consumables ship the same business day when the order is confirmed before 12:00 noon ET. Orders confirmed after the cut-off are dispatched the next business day.
  • Equipment ships on a schedule confirmed in writing on your quote. An LTL collection has to be booked with a carrier, so the date is stated on the quote rather than estimated here.
  • Back orders are not held silently. If an item is not on the shelf we tell you before the order is processed, with the real date, so you can decide whether to wait or substitute.

Business hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET, Monday to Friday. Transit time is additional to dispatch time and is set by the carrier, not by us. Delivery dates from any carrier are estimates rather than guarantees.

Who arranges the freight

Either of us can, and it is worth deciding before the quote is issued.

We arrange it. We book the carrier and the freight cost appears as a line on your quote. This is the default and it is the simpler route for most buyers.

You arrange it. If your company or agency has negotiated carrier rates — many contractors and most public fleets do — you are welcome to use them. Tell us when you request the quote and we will palletize, weigh, dimension and stage the shipment for your carrier to collect, and quote the goods without freight.

Receiving an LTL delivery

A freight delivery is not a parcel delivery, and the difference is worth thirty seconds of planning.

Tell us any of the following when you request the quote, not after the truck is booked. Each one is a carrier accessorial charge, and priced into the quote it is a known number; discovered at the curb it is a redelivery fee.

  • No loading dock or forklift on site — a lift gate is needed to get the pallet to the ground
  • Residential, farm, construction site or restricted-access address
  • A required delivery window, or a site that is only open certain hours
  • An appointment or a call before delivery is required
  • Inside delivery rather than to the curb or the dock edge

A standard LTL delivery is to the curb or the dock, during the carrier’s own business hours, with the pallet left for you to move. Getting a 400 lb saw from the tail of a truck into your yard is the receiver’s job unless the quote says otherwise.

Damage, shortage and what to do at the curb

Inspect the shipment before you sign for it. This is the single point at which a damage claim is easy, and after it the claim gets hard.

  1. Count the cartons or pallets against the delivery receipt.
  2. Look for crushed corners, torn shrink wrap, punctures, a leaning pallet or a broken skid.
  3. Write any damage or shortage on the delivery receipt before you sign it, however minor it looks. A clean signature on a damaged shipment is the carrier’s defense against the claim.
  4. Photograph the pallet before it is broken down, and the damage itself.
  5. Call (701) 922-1526 the same day and we will open the claim with the carrier for you.

Transit damage should be reported within 5 business days, as set out in our Returns and Refunds Policy. Title and risk pass on delivery, which is exactly why the note on the delivery receipt matters.

Where we ship

We ship throughout the continental United States. For Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or an address outside the United States, ask before you build the order into a bid — those lanes are quotable but the freight is a material part of the cost and you should see the number first.

Delivery to a jobsite rather than a yard is normal for us and is not a problem, provided the site can receive the shipment. See the accessorial list above.

Frequently asked questions

How much is shipping?

It depends on what you are ordering and where it is going, which is why it is quoted rather than estimated. Prices on this site exclude freight, and freight is quoted in writing on the same quote as the goods, before any payment is requested. There is no delivery charge added after you accept a quote.

How fast do orders ship?

In-stock consumables ship the same business day when the order is confirmed before 12:00 noon ET. Equipment ships on a schedule confirmed in writing on the quote, because an LTL collection has to be booked with a carrier.

Can I use my own freight account?

Yes. If your company or agency has negotiated carrier rates you are welcome to use them. Tell us when you request the quote and we will palletize, weigh, dimension and stage the shipment for your carrier to collect, and quote the goods without freight.

Do I need a forklift to receive a saw?

You need either a forklift, a loading dock, or a lift-gate delivery. Tell us which applies when you request the quote and the lift gate is priced in. A standard LTL delivery leaves the pallet at the curb or the dock edge for the receiver to move.

What do I do if the shipment arrives damaged?

Write the damage or shortage on the delivery receipt before you sign it, photograph the pallet before it is broken down, and call us the same day. Report transit damage within 5 business days. A clean signature on a damaged shipment is what makes a carrier claim hard to win.

Do you deliver to a jobsite?

Yes. Jobsite delivery is normal for this catalogue. Tell us at quote stage if the site has no dock or forklift, has restricted access, or has a delivery window, so the carrier accessorial charges are priced in rather than discovered at the curb.

Do you ship outside the continental United States?

Ask before you build the order into a bid. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and international addresses are quotable, but freight on those lanes is a material part of the total cost and you should see the number first.

Need freight priced before you bid?

Send the items, quantities and the delivery ZIP code. We return goods and freight on one written quote within one business day.
