DOT Concrete Cutting Starter Kit

Description

Cordless changes what is practical indoors. No exhaust means a cutter can be used in an occupied building, a basement or a plant room without extraction or a fuel permit, and there is no cold-start ritual before a thirty-second cut. For fit-out, service and repair work that is the whole argument.

What is in the kit

• Makita XEC01PT1 36V cordless power cutter, 9″ — battery-powered handheld cutting.
• Two DOT diamond blades sized for the machine.
• DOT pressurised water bottle for continuous water feed at the blade.

Why the water bottle matters here

It is not an afterthought. OSHA Table 1 requires a handheld saw cutting concrete to have a continuous integrated water supply if you want to work without exposure monitoring, and a cordless saw is precisely the tool people take to sites where there is no standpipe. The bottle is what makes the package usable indoors as well as convenient. See the Table 1 requirements.

A 9″ machine is a shallow-cutting tool. By the one-third-of-diameter rule that governs any blade, expect roughly 3″ of depth in a pass. For full-depth slab sawing you want a 14″ cutter or a walk-behind saw. Compare in cut-off saws.
