Description

A slab that cured through the winter is a different material from one poured last month, and that difference ends more blades than any other single factor. Dense, fully cured concrete polishes the exposed diamonds flat instead of fracturing them. The blade glazes, the saw bogs down, the operator leans harder, and the cut gets slower still.

Why a soft bond belongs on hard concrete

The DOT Pro Cured Concrete Blade runs a soft bond for exactly that reason. A soft matrix wears away at the rate hard aggregate demands, shedding spent diamonds and continually presenting fresh cutting edges. This is the rule most crews have backwards: hard, dense material takes a soft bond; soft, abrasive material takes a hard bond. The full explanation is in our diamond blade bond guide.

Sizes, depth of cut and rebar

Six diameters, 12″ through 24″, covering handheld cut-off saws up to flat saws. Keep any single pass to roughly a third of the blade diameter — about 4-1/2″ of slab on a 14″ blade — and step down for anything deeper. The segments are formulated to keep cutting through rebar-reinforced concrete, though steel always slows the feed rate; there is more on that in cutting rebar-reinforced concrete.

Rated for dry cutting on saws with no water feed. Where your saw takes water, use it: wet cutting extends life two to three times and keeps silica exposure inside OSHA Table 1. See the full concrete blade range.
