Description

Diamond blades are damaged in transit far more often than they are damaged cutting. A 14″ blade thrown loose in a truck bed spends the drive knocking against a generator frame, and segment shoulders are exactly what chips when that happens.

Warping is the quieter problem

A blade does not have to lose a segment to be finished. Steel cores warp under weight — a stack of blades sitting under a compressor for a fortnight of jobs comes out with a wobble you can hear before you can see it. A warped core cuts wide, wanders off the line, loads the arbor and cannot be straightened. Flat, separated storage is the only prevention.

What the case does

Slotted dividers hold each blade flat and apart so cores cannot rest on one another and segments never touch. Closed, it also keeps the blades dry between jobs — surface rust on a steel core does not stop it cutting, but it makes reading the direction arrow and the diameter marking harder than it needs to be.
